FORMULA:
Each 5 ml Alora Syrup contains as active ingredient 694.444 mg Passiflora liquid extract; as preservative ingredients nipalgin and niposol; as sweetener crystal sugar and ethyl alcohol.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
The passiflora extract is a sedative drug, which is obtained from a natural source named Passiflora incarnata. As active ingredients it contains a combination of some alkaloids such as harmine, aribine and some flavonoids like vitexin and orientin.
INDICATIONS:
Alora Syrup is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of insomnia, anxiety, premenstrual syndrome, nervousness and stress.
DRUG INTERACTIONS and OTHER INTERACTIONS:
During concomitant therapy some central nervous system depressants like as alcohol, barbiturates, and tranquillisers potentate the sedative and hypnotic effects. Coadministration with disulfiram therapy should be avoided.
WARNINGS / PRECAUTIONS:
It must to be kept in mind central depressive efficacy of the drug. Although sedation may be a desirable property in the treatment of some patients, it may interfere with the patient’s daytime activities such as driving or machine using. Hence especially in people driving vehicle and operating machines necessitate proper attention. Pregnant woman may administer only in case of physician’s careful consideration.
DOSAGE and ADMINISTRATION:
Adults: Recommended dose for sedative effect during all day 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoon-full) should be taken before the meal times and for sleeping disorders 10 ml (2 teaspoon-full) is taken one hour before the bedtime.
Children: For children 3 years of age or older, more less doses should given and for once a time it should not given more than ½ teaspoon-full.

Alora Syrup: In 100 ml amber coloured bottles, original 5 ml capable spoon is available in its carton.
