FORMULA:
Each 5 ml of Ambrex Pediatric Syrup contains 15 mg of Ambroxol HCl.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Ambroxol is a mucolytic and expectorant agent, which has a thinner effect on respiratory tract secretions. Reduced viscoelasticity of mucus permitting an improvement of the ciliary function and facilitate discarding of respiratory secretions and respiration.
Cough and phlegm complaints of patient are decreased considerable proportion by this medication. Respiratory secretion production is normalized by Ambroxol so natural mucous layer cover the respiratory tract occurs again.

INDICATIONS:
Ambroxol is indicated in patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanying with secretory dysfunction.

WARNINGS / PRECAUTIONS:
Ambrex syrup is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to bromhexine or its metabolite Ambroxol.
Ambroxol should not be used together with codeine and other antitussive agents. When these drugs given concomitantly, it may be difficult to remove serous mucus and secretions from respiratory tract.
Caution should be exercised in prescribing Ambroxol for patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency.

DOSAGE and ADMINISTRATION:
AMBREX PEDIATRIC SYRUP
The dosage for children 0-2 years of age is 1/2 teaspoon twice a day (2.5 ml=7.5 mg)
The dosage for children 2-5 years of age is 1/2-1 teaspoon 3 times a day (2.5-5 ml=7.5-15 mg)
The dosage for children 5-12 years of age is 1-2 teaspoonfuls twice a day (5-10 ml=15-30 mg)
Optimal duration of therapy is 8-10 days.

Ambrex Pediatric Syrup in bottle of 100 ml, original 5 ml capable spoon is available in its cartoon.
