FORMULA:
Each Lansoprol Micropellet Capsule contains 30 mg of lansoprazole in the form of gastric acid-resistant, enteric-coated micropellets.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
Lansoprazole suppresses gastric acid secretion at the final stage by inhibiting H+, K+, ATPase in parietal cells, where this enzyme acts as a proton pump.

INDICATIONS:

• Duodenal ulcer,
• Gastric ulcer,
• Short-term treatment of esophageal reflux,
• Long-term treatment of pathological hypersecretion, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome,
• Helicobacter pylori eradication to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer and gastritis recurrence.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Lansoprol 30 mg Micropellet Capsule is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to lansoprazole and other substances it contains.

DOSAGE and ADMINISTRATION:
Duodenal Ulcer: 30 mg (1 capsule) of Lansoprol 30 mg Micropellet Capsule is given once a day. The duration of the therapy is 4 weeks.
Gastric Ulcer: 30 mg (1 capsule) of Lansoprol 30 mg Micropellet Capsule is given once a day. The duration of the therapy is 4 weeks. The treatment is maintained for an additional period of 2 to 4 weeks if necessary.
Esophageal Reflux (when the presence of erosion and ulceration is diagnosed by endoscopy): 30 mg (1 capsule) of Lansoprol 30 mg Micropellet Capsule is given once a day. The duration of the therapy is 4 to 8 weeks. For the patients not responding to the initial 8 weeks treatment, an additional treatment of 8 weeks may be administered. In patients who present recurrence, a further treatment course of 8 weeks should be considered.
Hypersecretory Conditions (Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome): 60 mg (2 capsules) of Lansoprol 30 mg Micropellet Capsule is given once a day. When necessary, daily dosage may be increased to 120 to 180 mg. For dosages exceeding 90 mg, total daily dosage should be divided into two equal doses.
Eradication of Helicobacter pylori: Regiment contains appropriate antimicrobials and Lansoprol 30 mg Micropellet Capsule together should be administered for 1 or 2 weeks. In order to achieve optimal acid suppression, Lansoprol® 30 mg Micropellet Capsule should be taken twice daily.
No dosage adjustment is required for the elderly.

LANSOPROL 30 mg MICROPELLET CAPSULE SHOULD BE TAKEN BEFORE EATING. MICROPELLETS IN CAPSULES SHOULD NOT BE CHEWED OR CRUSHED.
